"In All Things We Give Thanks". Thessalonians 5:18

Meditating on these words.......

                                                       

       "In ALL things......."

They  resonate ..............

Sometimes in prayer, I think about times in my life that were much more painful than others.

 I am sure that they were times that I needed to gain strength in character or grace, or practice compassion, patience, trust or to be humbled. 

As narrow or long a road as the journey sometimes may be, there are others still, that I have a difficult time reconciling the gift of "thankfulness". 

 The heart is still reluctant, resistant to act.

Disconnected.......incongruent.......disingenuous...
Why?.....
What is the barrier, the obstacle, that keeps the horizon in the distance?..

Help me to truly learn Thankfulness, Father. 

 Help me to truly feel it and give in to it.....to breathe in ALL things as a gift of thanks.

As my truest self, my most open self....

Help my heart to feel the warmth of your love, where it is cold,
 fill the spaces,where it is vastly void and
gently repair, as only you can, the horrific damage that has been caused by a world so lost without you active in it.

Thank you for the gifts of sugaring that that cause the leaves to change color in the fall,

For the cycles of the moon,

For the simplicity of the alphabet and the complexity of communication. 

For love

For forgiveness

For healing

For family

For ALL that is You.....
